If it weren’t for their loyalty and dedication to their profession, HR professionals could be Oscar-worthy actors for all the different roles they play. One moment they’re playing the enforcer of company policy, the next moment they’re head coach, the next they’re hard-edged negotiators or a sympathetic counselor.
How much time, on average, do HR managers spend wearing each of their many hats?
According to a study by totaljobs.com, a U.K.-based job search and recruiting tool, the top three things HR “elites” (managers and above) spend most of their time on are:
- Meeting with senior staff and business partners: 21.8%
- Employee Relations and engagement: 15.3%
- Meeting with employees: 13.6%
